Contribution in Focus Group Discussion (FGD)
SCI participated as a speaker in the Focus Group Discussion (FGD) titled “Review of Central–Regional Policy Harmonization for the Management of Conservation Areas in the Seribu Islands National Park”, organized by the Strategic Policy Study Center of the Ministry of Environment (KLH). This activity aimed to:
Gather strategic input from various stakeholders.
Refine conservation area management policies.
Ensure harmonization between central and regional policies to support environmental preservation.
Role in Ministerial Dialogue
SCI was also invited as a representative of the Seribu Islands’ environmental community in a Ministerial Dialogue organized by the Environmental Fund Management Agency (BPDLH). In this forum, SCI introduced the coral adoption tourism initiative through coral transplantation methods. This program is designed as a sustainable solution to:
Address pandemic challenges while maintaining marine ecosystem sustainability.
Enhance the local community’s economy through eco-friendly tourism activities.


Environmental Education through School Visits
In the field of education, SCI collaborates with the Seribu Islands National Park Authority and PT. Nusantara Regas to implement the School Visit program at SMAN 69 Seribu Islands. This activity aims to:
Instill a love for nature in the younger generation from an early age.
Provide in-depth understanding of the importance of marine conservation.
Introduce the 10 Key Resources of the Seribu Islands National Park, such as coral reefs, seagrass beds, and mangrove forests, which play a vital role in maintaining ecosystem balance.
Outreach through Media
SCI utilizes digital media platforms to expand the reach of environmental education through a podcast titled “Watch Sustainability Talks” with Miss Earth Indonesia 2021 at El John Pageants. On this occasion, SCI shared:
Real experiences from various conservation activities that have been carried out.
Education on the role of marine resources as a global climate regulator.
Inspiration to encourage public participation in environmental conservation efforts.
Program Impact and Objectives
Through FGDs, dialogues, education, and outreach, SCI aims to:
Strengthen conservation policies through strategic input.
Increase public awareness about the importance of preserving marine ecosystems.

The FGD program and environmental outreach demonstrate the organization’s dedication to strengthening cross-sector collaboration and raising public awareness about marine conservation. By participating in policy discussions, supporting environmental education, and utilizing media platforms, SCI continues to be a driving force in advancing sustainable environmental conservation efforts in Indonesia.
