Pramuka Island Becomes the Conservation Partnership Location of LindungiHutan and Smiling Coral Indonesia

Pramuka Island, Seribu Islands — This small and beautiful island has officially become the collaboration site between two environmental movers: LindungiHutan and Smiling Coral Indonesia (SCI). The collaboration carries a major mission: to protect the coasts and oceans through mangrove planting and coral reef rehabilitation.

This activity marks the expansion of LindungiHutan’s conservation program into the Seribu Islands National Park area, partnering with SCI as the local field collaborator. SCI itself is a community-based group that has been actively engaged in marine environmental conservation since 2010, under the supervision of the Seribu Islands National Park Authority.

In addition to coral reef rehabilitation, SCI also manages a designated area for mangrove planting that has been legally recognized since 2020. This collaboration is supported by J&T Express, which participated in planting 1,000 mangrove seedlings, estimated to absorb 187 kg of CO₂eq and continue increasing over time.

“Pramuka Island has great potential, from its ecosystem to land legality. The collaboration with SCI is very promising because they are experienced and have a strong local network,” explained Aminul Ichsan, Business Development Manager of LindungiHutan.

Through this partnership, both parties hope to raise awareness of the importance of mangroves, corals, and environmental conservation — not only for local communities but also for tourists and the wider public.
